Before visiting the range building you MUST have made contact with the club secretary to obtain permission to visit. This is a Home Office rule and is NOT optional! Visiting is STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! By complying with this request, the Secretary will ensure that there is a competent and knowledgeable club member waiting for you on your arrival so that you may gain maximum benefit from your visit to our facility.
Take the M6 as far as the Lancaster North exit – Junction 34, (New Bypass Sat Nav’s may not work)
Follow signs for Morecambe/Heysham (including Heysham Harbour Ferrys and the Heysham Nuclear Power Station). This new road will take you to Morecambe Road (Sat Nav’s will work again) Cross this road (traffic lights) Carry on to the 4th roundabout (end of this road). Take the first exit left towards Middleton. (The second exit is signposted to Heysham Power Station and to Heysham Harbour.) As you drive along this road, immediately on your left you will see Alan Dick Engineering Works. On your right, a little further on and over the railway line bridge, you will see Heysham Golf Club’s Club House and golf course.
Continue along this road. You will pass, on your left, The Crown & Anchor pub (now a private residence) with chemical company sites on your right.
You will also pass a petrol filling station/garage on your right. The road then bears right and goes up over a short rise. Just over the rise you will see a cross roads at the entrance to Heysham business park.
Turn right, into the Industrial Estate (Main Avenue)and then immediately right again into our access road. You will go through a metal ‘height barrier’ and then along a narrow road to the range building which is situated 75 metres up the hill on the left. Pass through the green gate entrance and into the car park.
You have now arrived at Morecambe Rifle & Pistol Club premises. Once parked, ring the door bell and introduce yourself to your guide.
