A N, Stats- other disciplines - 19/06/13 - The Altcar page has been updated with some photos from last Sunday's trip. If anyone has any photos they would to share then feel free to get them to me and I will throw up on the site whilst I'm still here. I will be handing the website back to Nigel very soon...
- 15/06/13 - OK so it's been ages since I updated the news pages again! Sorry!! But for those of you that don't know, I have had other things on my mind. I officially resigned my position on the Committee at the last meeting and the club website will be handed back to Nigel to maintain. This is due to the fact that I am moving abroad. I have landed myself a new job and I am off to Canada on the 9th July.
I have very much enjoyed being a part of the club and would like to say a massive thank you to all of those that have helped me and been a big part of my time at Morecambe Rifle & Pistol Club. I am taking this opportunity, whilst I am still at the helm of the website, to thank Mark Reid, Ken Greaves, Matt Evans and the man who is no longer at the club but was a big influence for me and others, Graham Readyoff. Thank you to all of you.
On the back of that, I will be making the trip to Altcar for the last time tomorrow (15th), so I'll see you there if you're coming. I will do my last update tomorrow after the Altcar trip.... - 08/04/13 Sorry for not updating this sooner. I do try and get the updates out as soon after the committee meeting as possible, but I'm a week late this time.... Any ways, the biggest change to have been officially voted through at the April meeting, is that the club will now open it's doors on a Monday night for air weapons. It seems that the air gun section has become extremely popular in the last few months and there is even a backlog of people waiting to come and have a look around. Thanks to Carol and Gordon Talor and also Barry Antribus for volunteering to open up for us on the Mondays.
- 27/03/13 I received word today from Gordon that the air gun comp has now finished and that the awards were presented last night (26th). Congrats to all who won prizes and I would personally like to say well done to all participants of the competition and thank you all for taking part. It's also nice to see the regular air gun team turning out week after week and braving the cold. For more, see the air gun page. Dom-CM
- 06/03/13 - update after the Committee meeting of 05/03/13. Morecambe came 5th in Division 1. A bad result within the division, but it does mean that there are only 4 teams better than us :)
Individual league 2013! If anyone wants to shoot in this please contact Nigel.
It was decided that all members wanting to shoot at Altcar this year will pay the £8 cost of the NRA insurance themselves. This will ease the burden on the clubs finances and lets face it, it's not a lot of money is it? This insurance fee needs paying to John Wilkinson before travelling to Altcar. Any questions, please feel free to email. - 11/02/13 At February's Committee meeting Martin Towers became the newly appointed "Trophy Secretary". Martin is going to prepare the club's trophys so that they can once again be given out as prizes to members that are successfull at various club competitions throughout the year. Dom-CM
- 25.01.13 Proposed "MORECAMBE CUP" competitions. When the weather improves I intend to set up a series of competitions for prone and benchrest rifle (this could be also be carried through to the air section). The competition will be based on the "Preston Cup", for those who are aware of that. For those who are not then this is how it works. You pick a "start". Eg If your average is 90 then you will pick a start of 10. If you score 90 then your actual competition score will be 100. However should you score 91 then the total is 101 and you will be issued a penalty. In other words you pick a score you can acheive and then get as close as you can to it. This means we are all shooting on a level playing field. More details to follow- see the club notice board! Nigel- Stats
- MORECAMBE B. We now have sufficient prone shooters to form a second team. Hopefully this will become a reality for the Summer league. Nigel - Stats
